Dr. Matthew Howard, MD

Dr. Howard is the Chair and DEO of the Department of Neurosurgery and serves as Department Chairman and Director of the Human Brain Research Laboratory. He is an expert in the fields of neurophysiology, neurointerventional device development, and minimally invasive neurosurgery. He possesses decades of experience building and leading multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional research programs. In 1993, he co-founded Stereotaxis to magnetically deliver intraparenchymal thermotherapy within the brain.
